Better Joy is the solo project of Bria Keely, but live, she’s backed by a stellar band. Her vibrant, uplifting indie-pop blends the heartfelt storytelling of Phoebe Bridgers with the infectious hooks of The Cure and the melodrama of The Smiths. With a voice that’s both tender and commanding—self-assured and prominent like Debbie Harry’s—she weaves personal narratives through shimmering guitar riffs, playful basslines, and characterful drums.

Recently on tour supporting Hard-Fi, Better Joy has already caught the attention of BBC Radio 6’s Chris Hawkins, who named her one of his favorite acts of 2024. So far, she has only released a handful of singles, but with new music and an upcoming EP, the future looks bright for Better Joy.
