Eades
The five-piece band Eades from Leeds brings hope to the hopeless and devilish fun to the downhearted. They claim that their complete DIY ethos is the cornerstone of their unique sound. The sheer joy of doing everything themselves is what makes their music so special, almost impossible to categorize into a single genre. Picture a laid-back, modern, lo-fi version of Oasis, laced with layers of post-punk and indie rock—a solid yet creative and hopeful product of the British working class.
Their songs explore the transition from adolescence to young adulthood and, eventually, middle age. What starts as light, self-deprecating tracks gradually gains more weight and intensity. This is the meaning of life according to Eades: observational, often dryly humorous, and always with a wink. The band released a debut album, and their latest project, the Loose Cliffs Edge EP, dropped in early August 2024.
