Sad Boys Club
Fortunately, it’s more than just woe and dreariness in the Sad Boys Club. The London outfit plays contemporary emo-indie rock à la The Cure. The entirety is drenched with melancholia, the upbeat tempo’s and lyrics about any artist favourite thematics, love and death, have been put seamlessly together.
The sharp basslines, overwhelming guitars and Robert Smith-esque vocals, feel like they are suited for any given time. They would work as well in a grimy basement or nightclub, played a bit more rough than usual, as a bit mellow in the sundown at the mainstage of a festival. The sad boys have released a handful of singles and an EP in 2022, and we hope we will hear a lot more of them this year. On this evening we might shed some tears of joy, because boys do cry after all.
