Office Manager
Vessel 11 Restaurant, a distinctive pub & live music venue located on a charming red lightship, is looking for a dynamic Office Manager to join our vibrant team.
This role is an evolving position, offering the opportunity to shape and refine the role according to your strengths and ideas. As the backbone of our daily operations, you’ll ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, from managing daily cash flows and handling invoices to overseeing general office tasks and HR functions.

General Office Management
- Optimise and manage administrative systems to ensure smooth office operations
- Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondence professionally
- Maintain the tidiness and functionality of the office space
- Manage inventory, order office supplies and equipment, and ensure timely restocking
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations
- Assist with planning and executing office-related projects and initiatives
Finance admin
- Regularly monitor and manage daily cash flows to ensure accuracy and security
- Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure proper documentation
- Verify and confirm weekly cash balances and ensure accurate staff hours and tip calculations
- Process and handle invoices promptly and efficiently
- Prepare payments and manage related documentation
- Identify and recommend improvements to the payment and booking systems to enhance efficiency
HR
- Maintain and update employee records and files accurately
- Address employee inquiries and provide support as needed
- Assist with Onboarding and Offboarding processes of employees
- Schedule and conduct job review meetings and ensure probationary periods are completed on time
- Manage records related to holiday entitlements and sick leave
- Assist in payroll Payroll preparation
- Manage monthly and weekly schedules for the restaurant staff schedule
- Assist with advertising of job openings and updating of job platform
Qualifications:
- Experience; Previous experience in office management or administrative roles is advantageous
- Strong Organisational Skills; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent Communication Skills; proficiency in both written and verbal communication
- Basic Understanding of Financial Principles; knowledge of cash flow management, invoicing, and general financial practices
- Familiarity with HR Processes; experience with onboarding, payroll, and employee records management
- Problem-Solving Mindset; ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Strong Attention to Detail; precision and thoroughness in performing tasks and managing records
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and HR/financial software is a plus
