Big Blood from South Portland, Maine, deliver a distinctive sound where raw folk meets experimental rock, blending haunting melodies with dynamic intensity. Formed in 2006 by Colleen Kinsella and Caleb Mulkerin after the dissolution of Cerberus Shoal (their previous band), Big blood originally was a collaborative project which later grew into a family affair with the inclusion of their daughter Quinnisa and her boyfriend Aiden Arel.
Big Blood’s music is both diverse and deeply personal. Known for their DIY ethos, they have self-released most of their recordings, often with handmade packaging, while also collaborating with independent labels like Ba Da Bing Records and Feeding Tube.
Colleen and Caleb’s ability to create atmospheric, evolving soundscapes, combining traditional instruments with unconventional sounds, has earned Big Blood a devoted worldwide following.In a live setting, the band channels the raw energy and inventive spirit that has defined their journey from the start, drawing listeners into their world of sound and emotion. Each show is an engaging exploration of their ever-changing creative process.

&The will provide the support: &The started when Joost showed John some of their indie emo riffs. The Irish folk style of John’s mandolin playing proved to be a surprising, but perfect fit. After a while Paqui was added on vocals and with her wide range adding another layer to the already diverse sonic palette. Partially rough-edged, partially intricate, &The weave songs with toil and care, like a sturdy and comforting hug or a blanket when you’re napping on the couch. Since their dawn they have played a wide array of events: gardens, a museum and more regular venues, joining the stage with acts like Crywank, Hana Stretton, H_U_T._.
